Congresswoman Renee Ellmers says she's praying for the sinners who "bear false witness" against her
Congresswoman Renee Ellmers (R-NC) is praying for the sinners who are going around town telling everyone that she is giving her “good ‘n’ plenty” to a man, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who’s not her husband.
Ellmers is a “God-fearing” woman who knows the penalties for those who covenant with another woman’s husband.
And being the “God-fearing” woman that she is, Ellmers would never lay with another woman’s man.
At least, this is what she has told WNCN. WNCN quoted Ellmers as saying, “As someone who has been targeted by completely false accusations and innuendo, I have been moved by the outpouring of support and prayers from my colleagues, constituents and friends. Now I will be praying for those who find it acceptable to bear false witness.”
Rumors about Ellmers alleged affair with Congressman McCarthy began after McCarthy slipped and said that Republicans had formed the Select Committee on Benghazi in order to bring down former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The admission didn’t sit too well with Republicans. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) said that the comments were “absolutely inappropriate,” while Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said that the investigation “has never been…and never will be” about Mrs. Clinton.
About a week after the comments were made, McCarthy received a letter from Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC). In his letter , Jones hinted that he had knowledge about McCarthy and Ellmers' alleged affair.
Jones told McCarthy, who was the top choice to become the next speaker of the house, to take his name out of the running to become the next speaker of the house because of his questionable behavior that will be an embarrassment for everyone associated with him [Kevin McCarthy].
A day after receiving Jones’ letter, McCarthy took himself out of the speaker of the house running.
McCarthy denied that his abrupt exit was a result of his alleged “unholy” union with Ellmers. He instead credited his decision to not run for the House’s speakership to the party needing to come together.
This, of course, has not ended the rumors that McCarthy and Ellmers have been coming together just a little bit too much.
And to make matters worse, there are reports stating that the alleged scandalous affair has been going on since Ellmers took office in 2011.
Although there have not been any intimate pictures of the two or any love letters, tweets, or texts exchanged between McCarthy and Ellmers, the belief that they are engaging in a “sinful” relationship is enough for it to be true in a city like Washington D.C., where loving on a another man’s wife will lead to the guilty culprit getting a one-way ticket out of D.C.
